Anthony Powell, Managing Director - As the founder and managing director of KCG, Powell delivers strategic counsel to businesses and nonprofits across many sectors. He specializes in strategy development, organizational planning, and business process optimization strategies.

 Prior to KCG, Powell served as the Vice President of Professional Services and Enterprise Sales for Blackbaud (BLKB), a $300 million technology-solutions company that exclusively serves the global nonprofit market. As an officer of the company, he provided strategic direction and overall P&L management for this 300-person, $97 million division. During Powell's eight-year tenure at Blackbaud, divisional revenue grew at an annual rate greater than 40% and divisional gross margins consistently exceeded 60%.
 
Prior to his work with Blackbaud, Powell spent 10 years in the nonprofit sector, managing development operations and fundraising campaigns.  His nonprofit employment culminated with his leadership role at the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, D.C.

Kathy Church, Director- Church brings nearly two decades of strategic planning, organizational alignment and change management experience to the firm. Prior to joining KCG, Church ran her own successful consulting firm, Strategic Focus Associates (SFA). SFA successes include the creation and implementation of new performance management system for the US Coast Guard, development of a strategic plan for Howard University Health Sciences, realignment of service delivery for MUSC clinical services as well as numerous other change efforts for MUSC, Microsoft, Honeywell, United Airlines, and other organizations.
 
Kathy specializes in managing complex business change efforts, strategy development and deployment, collaboration, dispute systems design, and organization alignment. Her work over the past twenty years has focused on achieving tangible business results in complex, changing environments.

Jack Hoey, Director of Business - Hoey is an accomplished executive with unusual breadth of skills in finance, operations, and marketing. His 30-year career encompasses successful roles in both entrepreneurial and multinational corporate environments, and board leadership for a wide range of nonprofit boards.
 
For 15 years, Hoey led Coastal Glass Distributors, based in Charleston, South Carolina. During his tenure, he built the company into the largest independent fabricator of custom architectural glass products in the Southeastern U.S. Previously, Hoey spent 12 years with Rockwell International in finance and operations management roles marked by increasing responsibility.
 
Hoey has also provided distinguished leadership in a variety of nonprofit roles. Jack has led the trustee board of Seacoast Church since 2002, during which time the church grew from 1,000 members to 12,000 members and spread across a dozen sites in three states. He has also provided board leadership for Crisis Ministries, the Patriots Point Foundation, the Coastal Community Foundation, Pioneers, the Lowcountry Manufacturers Council, and the Berkeley-Charleston-Dorchester Council of Governments.

Kathy Zolman, Consultant – Prior to joining KCG, Kathy served as a Market Development Director for MeadWestvaco (MWV) Specialty Chemicals Division.  In this role, she was responsible for assessing growth opportunities and providing investment recommendations. She also developed an internal e-Business competency as well as an M&A Integration process to ensure successful transitions of acquisitions.

Kathy also has held the position of Senior Project Manager with the Advanced Technology Institute (ATI).  She has experience in providing value to government clients in large multifaceted programs seeking technology transition and commercial implementation.

Prior to her work with MWV, Kathy was a consultant at Arthur D. Little in their Information Management Practice. She worked with clients to identify best practices and establish performance metrics while implementing complex information systems.

Zolman holds a Masters in International Business (MIBS) from the University of South Carolina, where she focused on Information Technology and the Spanish language.

Meg McConnell, Consultant - McConnell is a consultant with over nine years of professional experience creating communication materials and managing projects for national and international corporate, nonprofit, and small business clients.  
 
She has worked with event planning, marketing, and graphic design in both the corporate and nonprofit sectors, and was also selected as a national winner in the 2008 American Inhouse Design Awards by Graphic Design USA Magazine and The Creative Group. She specializes in helping nonprofits deliver consistent branding through events, print materials, and online communications.
 
McConnell recently completed her Master’s in Communication at The College of Charleston, where she also earned her Bachelor’s degree in Communication with a minor in Fine Art.

Kaye Wallace, Finance and Accounting Specialist - Prior to joining KCG, Wallace was founder and principal of Accounting 101, LLC – a full service accounting and bookkeeping company which helped small businesses and non-profits maintain their financial information. She worked closely with business owners and company presidents to develop timely financial reports, prepare budgets and forecasting, manage payrolls, and improve cash flow. Wallace is a Pro Advisor for QuickBooks.  

Before Accounting 101, Wallace was the owner of Benchmark Rentals – an exclusive vacation rental and property management company on Kiawah and Seabrook Islands – for over 10 years.
 
Wallace is a Summa Cum Laude graduate of The College of Charleston with a B.S. in Business Administration and an emphasis in Finance and Economics.

R. Scott Hellman, Consultant - Hellman joined KCG in 2009 and through his boutique corporate benefits firm, Hellman Financial, LLC, provides consultation on companywide benefit programs and employee retention and succession plans.

Prior to his involvement in the corporate benefits industry, Hellman served as Director of Marketing for a $50 M privately-held furniture reseller. While there, Hellman oversaw an implementation of Oracle's ERP solution and reengineered the processes and procedures for the organization's distribution network.

Hellman holds a BA in History form the College of Charleston and an MBA from The University of Miami with specializations in Enterprise Resource Planning and Marketing.

 Maureen Ealy, Project Coordinator- Ealy serves as Project Coordinator, responsible for the firms marketing efforts, database management and the development and delivery of client work.

Ealy is a College of Charleston graduate who majored in Corporate Communication and minored in Urban Studies. She has dedicated a year at KCG, first working as an intern and project assistant before moving to Project Coordinator.

Prior to her time at KCG, Ms. Ealy has worked primarily in marketing and research based roles. Notable experience includes business development at Charleston-based advertising firm Rawle Murdy.
